REGULATION

of the International Competition of instrumental and vocal creativity “TESSA MUSIC CONTEST”

Location: The competition will be held in different cities of Kazakhstan, as well as in neighboring countries. December 1, 2019 the opening of this project will be held in Almaty, at the Almaty College of Music named after Tchaikovsky, after which our team are going to visit during the year: Karaganda, Nur-Sultan, Petropavlsk, Omks, Novosibirsk, Ust-Kamenogorsk, Altai, Tashkent, Bishkek, Shymkent.

GOALS AND OBJECTIVES OF THE CONTEST

The TESSA MUSIC CONTEST International Competition for Instrumental and Vocal Creativity organizes and conducts the TESSA (Qazaqstan) festival organizing committee, in order to identify the most talented and bright performers, discover the creative potential of children, youth and adults, as well bands and individual performers. All laureates of the Grand Prix of this project will be invited to Almaty to the final Tessa Music Contest competition, where the best talent will be selected among the best, who will be awarded the title of “Best of the Best” (in his nomination) of the international project “Tessa Music Contest” and cash bonus in the amount of 100,000 tenge.

The main objectives of the competition:

  • identification of creative teams and talented performers;
  • popularization of academic genres;
  • making new contacts;
  • demonstration of mastery to a wide audience;
  • familiarization with the culture and history of the city of stay.

As part of the “TESSA MUSIC CONTEST” competition, an excursion program will be held for participants who have come from other countries.

TERMS OF PARTICIPATION IN THE COMPETITION

Creative teams and individual performers aged from 5 years take part in the competition. A participant (soloist, group) has the right to participate in several nominations and categories with the condition of submitting a separate application form for each nomination and category.

To participate in the competition, participants submit an application form in the Organizing Committee of the Festival.

PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS (academic vocals):

Vocal – solo, duets: 1 work. The choice of works for the performance is free.

The total speech time is up to 5 minutes. Violation of the time limit is not permissible.

A piano is provided for the accompaniment. As well other instruments may be used. The use of phonograms and microphones is prohibited.

Vocals – ensembles: Competition performance of the ensemble can consist of 2 compositions, one of which must be performed a-cappella. The exception is age category “5 – 6 years old”. All works performed by participants in this age may be accompanied. The total playing time should not exceed 10 minutes.

Vocals – choirs:

Competition performance of the choir should consist of 2 compositions, one of which must be performed a-cappella. The exception is age category “5 – 6 years old”. All works performed by participants in this age category may be accompanied. The total playing time should not exceed 12 minutes.

Types of instruments participating in the competition: piano, stringed, folk, wind.

PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS (Instrumental Music)

Participants prepare for the contest 1 (one) full-length work with a total duration of sounding – soloists, duets – Categories 5-9 years old – no more than 5 min; Category 10-12 years old – not more than 7 minutes; the rest not more than – 10 min;

Trio, quartet, quintet, ensemble – no more than – 10 minutes;

It is not allowed to exceed the timing determined by the position of the executable program.

Participants bring musical instruments and music stands with them and bear all the costs associated with their transportation.

Note: belonging to the age category (quartet, quintet, ensemble, choir, orchestra) is determined by the average age of the participants

 

FINANCIAL CONDITIONS

All participants pay the registration fee for participation in the Contest. Organizational fee (1 nomination):

Instrumental art:

Solo (5 – 12 years old) – 16 000 tenge

Solo (over 12 years old) – 20 000 tenge

Duets – 9000 tenge / person

Trio, quartet, quintet – 7000 tenge / person

Participant of the ensemble from 6 to 12 people – 4000 tenge / person

Orchestra member from 13 people and more – 3500 tenge / person

Vocal art:

Solo – 18 000 tenge

Duets – 10 000 tenge / person

Trio, quartet, quintet – 7000 tenge / person

Participant of the ensemble from 6 to 12 people – 4000 tenge / person

Orchestra member from 13 people and more – 3500 tenge / person

Each additional solo application of the same participant is paid in the amount of 70% of the fee. These rules apply to ensemble participation.

Travel of Participants to the venue of the competition, accommodation, meals are carried out at the expense of the participants or by the sending party

The cost of staying in Almaty is specified upon request by email tessafestival@gmail.com Reservations for a hostel or a higher level hotel are possible.

All services are provided only through the Organizing Committee of the competition!

If you refuse to participate after November 1, 2019, the specified fee is not refundable!

 

According to the results of the competition, the participants of the competition are awarded:

  Grand Prix “TESSA MUSIC CONTEST” in the instrumental nomination 1 (one)

  • If this is a soloist, then a personal diploma of international standard, award engraving.
  • If this is a collective, then a personal diploma of international standard, award engraving.

“Laureate” I degree – awarded with a personal diploma of international standard, award engraving;

“Laureate” II, III degree – awarded with a personal diploma of international standard, a souvenir medal;

“Diploma” – handed nominal diplomas of the participant of the international standard.

  • Each manager receives memorable letters of appreciation from the organizing committee for preparing the participant.

AIMAN AKBAEVA – She graduated from the Almaty Music College in the class of Dombir, then entered the Kazakh National Conservatory named after Kurmangazy. She worked at the Academic National Instrumental Orchestra. Kurmangazy, in the ensemble “Aldyrna” of the Almaty Regional Philharmonic named after Suyunbaya, as well as in the folklore – ethnographic ensemble “Otyrar Sazy” as an individual performer. Has a great pedagogical experience. Her students entered and graduated from music universities in the country, working in the field of music. In 2019, the breastplate of “Excellence in Culture of the Republic of Kazakhstan” was awarded.

SHYNAR KOKYBASOVA – Graduate of the Zhubanov School of Music. In 2004 she graduated from the Kazakh National Conservatory named after Kurmangazy. In 2006 she graduated from the graduate school with a degree in chamber ensemble. He works as a concertmaster in the Zhubanov School of Music for the horn and saxophone, and also teaches piano at the Department of Musical Education and Psychology at the Conservatory of Music. Behind a lot of competitions and has experience of a jury member in a children’s music competition.

KULAY KOZHAMKULOVA – Graduated from the Almaty Tchaikovsky College of Music and the Almaty State Conservatory named after Kurmangazy. Today she is a teacher in the kobyz-prima class at the Tchaikovsky School. She prepared a large number of laureates of city, republican and international festivals, competitions. Pupils entered and graduated from musical universities of the country, working in the field of musical activity. Laureate of creative lessons. In the Children’s Music Schools and art schools of the city holds master classes, class concerts, provides methodological assistance. Member of the jury of various folk instrument performers contests.

OMAR IBRAIMOV – Artist of the folklore and ethnographic orchestra of Otyrar Sazy N. Tlendieva.
Soloist of the State Philharmonic named after Zh. Zhabaev. He graduated from the MA at the Conservatory Kurmangazy and he was awarded the degree of Master of Education. Lecturer of the College of Music P.I. Tchaikovsky. Conductor of the folk orchestra of variety circus college named after Zh. Elebekova. In 2018, Omar Ibraimov with his orchestra became the winner of the highest award of the GRAND PRIX instrumental competition in Abu Dhabi. The performance of his team was highly appreciated by the Director of the Dubai Conservatory, Mr. Riad Kudsey.

The jury of the Competition and the organizing committee have the right not to award some awards, as well as to divide and award additional ones.

The Organizing Committee reserves the right to make changes in the program of the competition, as well as in the quantitative and qualitative composition of the jury.

The decision of the jury is final, not negotiable

HOW TO TAKE PART IN:

  • Apply the established sample. Along with the application, you must provide a photo (size 300dpi / inch, format: tiff, jpg. For the catalog) and a creative biography of the team or artist.

The information of participants, sent to the organizing committee, is used in posters and campaign promotional materials.

COMPETITION SPONSOR and PARTNERS

The sponsors of the competition “ALMATY MUSIC CONTEST” can be both legal and physical persons who have partially or fully incurred the costs of organizing and conducting the competition.

The sponsor has the right to establish and award additional prizes and awards of his choice, to participate in the award procedures and other events of the competition.

The sponsor of the competition receives the right to use his name (brand name) in advertising posters and booklets of the competition, in the design of the competition halls, the solemn closing ceremony of the festival.
